Pocket Coach Tips

Want people to follow you, be loyal and comply with your requests?

Learn these words to launch that process:

"That which gets measured gets done.

That which gets done, gets rewarded.

That which gets rewarded, gets repeated."

Adopt this mantra as a model for working with staff, employees and family as you will be amazed at the response. Give some time.

The start of any project can be difficult because there are many unknown elements.

My first question is what do prospects need to know about you and the company to make their purchase decision?

How is your expertise going to improve the prospects' condition?

Here's a place to start:

I recommend creating a one-sheet with a photo to summarize your “value.”

The photo/image serves visual people. The bulleted copy serves analytical people.

The firm, confident statements and images serve the "in charge" people. And, the color, layout and font styles serve the creative, innovative prospect.

Identify the quick message. For example, does your tagline say it all? Positive Potentials tag is, "We shorten your learning curve." Our information revolves around that premise.

The key here is to use benefit language that let's the prospect know you have their back.

You will learn . . .

Enjoy peace of mind

Elevate your status . . .

In a cover letter, include how how your expertise would serve them; that's all they care about.

The discipline is getting into one page. Include items like your vision and expectations then translate them into the users perspective.

Hope that stirs some thoughts for you.

Calling Entrepreneurs!

Want to begin a business, already have a business and want to progress?

My first recommendation is to begin a marketing plan. Use a template to get you moving. www.marketingpower.com has samples. This is part of a larger business plan and is often glossed over. The more detail, the sharper company image appears.

The clients must reflect on why they went into business in the first place, beyond making money. Besides, the primary reason businesses fail is not lack of funds—it's lack of planning.

Who do they want to address?

Why does that audience need their services/products? (Eg. Shortage in the location.)

How does the client conduct business?

When I work with new clients, I use our 4 P's System ™:

What is the premise?

What is the promise?

What is the product/service and why you are the ONE to deliver it?

What is produced (results) and how?

This is a place for you to begin.

Good luck.

This is something I use for myself as well as clients.

1. I call it the "3 Edit Rule". The first round is always a brainstorming with client or self.

2. The 2nd round is reforming what came out.

3. The 3rd round is more clear so it can stand on it's own. From there it can always be refined again using the "3 Edit Rule."

The success key here is: no judgment, just evolution.

Staying in evolution promotes the promise and hope and discovery part of the coaching process.
