5 Steps to Get You Published!
1. Consider the best method for you to capture the data—record, type, dictate. This choice will help you relax and avoid staring at a blank page. Then, write the last paragraph of the book or article and ask yourself, “Has my conclusion answered the three relative issues I've discussed in the body of my work?”, then you're on your way!
2. Determine how steep your learning curve is for the publishing process. It may be beneficial to hire the expertise you need. Contact who you can trust to provide referrals.
3. Consider the "3 Edit Rule". The first round is always a brainstorming with yourself capturing the data with no judgment, just evolution. By staying in “evolution mode” you promote the promise and discovery part of the creative process. The 2nd round is recombining what came out from #1 while the 3rd round is the one that can stand alone.
4. Research how much time people, in the industry you're addressing, invest in reading or listening to books, CD's. How can your book or CD serve that audience? It's a starting point for your marketing plan.
5. Write your marketing plan first based on your seed idea. It will stimulate the creative process as you continually recognize your audience and reinforce the message you want to impart.
